Street Wisdom Stories
Nothing makes us happier than knowing you’re practising and enjoying Street Wisdom and hearing the stories of what you discover when you do.
Check out the stories from Street Wisdom experiences all around the world, if you’d like to share your story you can tag us on @StreetWisdom_ or drop us a line on contactus@streetwisdom.org
If you want to look at your phone less, spend more time outdoors, walk more for health and wonder, build your mindfulness practice, follow your curiosity, cultivate your serendipity mindset and get even more creative, Street Wisdom is the open-source technology to help you get there!
We’ve been running Street Wisdom Walkshops for over 10 years, sharing this wanderful practice with over 20,000 people in over 90 countries. But does it have any science behind it? It absolutely does.
We’re over the moon to be a big feature on Alex Elle and Libby DeLana’s incredible walking podcast, This Morning Walk. Listen in, this is such a treat.
If you're looking to look at your phone less next year, and make 2025 the year of IRL, Street Wisdom might be a useful open-source technology to help you get there.
We’d love to bring the joy and wonder of Street Wisdom walking practice to the incredible innovative South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, taking place in London in 2025! Help us by taking part in the public vote!
You wanderfuls inspire us so much. One of our wanderers from the World Wide Wander this year, Alex, wrote in with her “Wander Journal” (loving that so much!) and we were so moved by it, we had to ask if we could share it with the rest of the Street Wisdom community. Thanks so much Alex.
We wandered, we connected, we laughed, we cried. Wow. Just wow. The World Wide Wander 2024 was truly wanderful!
Street Wisdom is a global non-profit promoting the power of wandering to unlock creativity and clarity.
If you look at the world and think ‘Whoa, that’s confusing!’ – you’re not alone. We’re Street Wisdom – inventors of a creative walking practice that’s going to help.
We noticed in today’s Guardian this fascinating article about the move away from so-called smartphones towards the “haptic world” - or as we call it down here, stuff you can touch.
And it’s young people, it seems, leading the charge.
We love this!
Street Wisdom is for anyone and everyone! It’s also especially good for you if you:
🚶♂️ Have tried mindfulness and love it but also want to go a bit further (or are sometimes a bit fidgety)
🚶♀️ Love being outdoors and walking for the joy of it, while also being curious and outward facing
That’s a question, huh? Where does thinking happen in your body?
We love that question.
Most of us would point to our heads, of course.
Hello fellow travellers through life’s twists and turns.
What does serendipity mean for your life?
Serendipity – the idea of making surprising and valuable discoveries – is at the heart of Street Wisdom.
That quote sums up for me the heart, soul and joy of Street Wisdom. By wandering the streets, by sniffing up the aliveness of the main roads, the back streets and sides, we tune in to new ways of seeing things.
We just love this write-up of a recent Street Wisdom Walkshop in London, hosted by the wanderful Nicky Torode!
Why not practise what Nicky discovers in this “full-on body aliveness” with all those “street vibes and tingles”? Join an in-person event near you, or stream our free audio guides and head-and-body out there right now!
We just love this write-up of a recent Street Wisdom Walkshop in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, hosted by the wanderful Anna Look and Tiffany Baker.
We just love this write-up of a recent Street Wisdom Walkshop in London, hosted by the wanderful Ula Caroto! We particularly love

We’re big fans of the writing of Geoff Nicholson. His books on walking are awesome! Check out his The Lost Art of Walking if you’re new to him.
